Music - Guitar strings gone mad (people playing with their iPhones) and Andy Nicolai

As the first youtube vid states, for those interested in what makes this effect possible, a conversation on reddit is ongoing.

In case you were thinking that the second video sounded nice (I certainly did), here's a full version of that song and another from the person.

And here's the other song of his I found scraping the net:

  1. That is so cool, and interesting. I like the technical description of the effect: "so everything is all wibbly-wobbly and timey-wimey." Ha!

A beautiful song. I am relearning the guitar. I had a dream last night that I could play without effort. My fingers were flying and the guitar neck was a cross between a steel string and a classical. Very rare for me to have a good dream, but a good dream it was :)

  3. Neato. Aside from the visual fun of the string wobble, I really like the tone of the steel string guitar in the second clip. Also impressed that in the third clip such pretty sounds are being made with so few fingers.

  5. Aloha Annie! "Re"learning? Did you used to play?
Nice dream! Beats the pants off of my dream that involved sniping and a lot of people dying... That's what I get for reading post-apocalyptic fiction. : p

Etowi Eryl! Glad you liked it! Always a pleasure to share with friends. : j

Kuairi Khnoum! Hey you're right, I hadn't noticed he was solely playing with thumb and index... That is impressive. I wonder if he's planning on adding a layer of melody on top with his other fingers? Though it does sound pretty much complete as is... Hmm.: j

Tiõrv Theresa! I'm glad that you like the content of my posts. I guess now I'll just claim to be going to quality instead quantity, yeah that's what I'll claim. : j

  6. I think you are going for quality instead of quantity. I'd like to say the same thing for my blog, but I know better.

  7. Oh pschaw! We both know I'm not going for anything with this blog. I'm just casually sharing things I like with people I like.

You, however, are creating something monumental. Something you can look back on in the future and take stock of what you went through, what you've done... Something you can share with your kids when they get older, something that beats the pants off of photo albums.
